Group Instruction:

Fencing for Beginners I

The sport of fencing is exciting, challenging, and fun!  Improve fitness and coordination, develop mental skills, and make new friends as you learn the basics of Olympic-style fencing.  Classes are co-ed.  Fencing can be enjoyed by people of all ages.  Men, women, teens, and children are welcome.  Please wear sneakers and full-length jogging/sweatpants.  All equipment provided.

  • Youth class (boys and girls, ages 9-12)
    Saturday mornings from 9:30-10:30am, beginning September 11th
    Course includes 8 sessions, 1 hour each 
    Fee:  $75
     
  • Adult class (age 13 and up)
    Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm, beginning September 9th
    Course includes 8 sessions, 90 min. each
    Fee:  $95

Fencing for Beginners II
Wimbledon Plaza, West Seneca

This course is a continuation of Fencing for Beginners I.  Additional technical skills will be introduced in this course, as well as the basic tactics and strategy of sport fencing.  Students must have completed level I and/or have the permission of the instructor to participate.  Classes are co-ed.  Equipment is available, although students at this level are encouraged to begin purchasing their own gear.

  • Youth class (boys and girls, ages 9-12)
    Days and times to be determined, beginning in November
    Course includes 8 sessions, 1 hour each 
    Fee:  $75
     
  • Adult class (age 13 and up)
    Thursday evenings from 8:00-9:30pm, beginning September 9th
    Course includes 8 sessions, 90 min. each
    Fee:  $95

Fencing for Beginners III
Wimbledon Plaza, West Seneca

This course is a continuation of Fencing for Beginners II.  The emphasis of this course will be on bouting, tactics, and strategy.  Technical instruction will focus on creativity and developing students' ability to complete complex phrases and compound actions.  Students will be encouraged to begin to develop their own personal fencing style and individualized training program.  Students must have completed level II and/or have the permission of the instructor to participate.  Classes are co-ed.  Equipment is available, although students at this level are expected to have the majority of their own gear.

  • Youth class (boys and girls, ages 9-12)
    Days and times to be determined, beginning in January
    Course includes 8 sessions, 1 hour each 
    Fee:  $75
     
  • Adult class (age 13 and up)
    Days and times to be determined, beginning in November
    Course includes 8 sessions, 90 min. each
    Fee:  $95

 Lessons:

One-on-one lessons are available for experienced fencers in foil, epee, or sabre, or for beginners.  Adults and children are welcome.

Lessons should be scheduled by appointment or taken as available during open practice.

Fee:  $15 for 25 min. lesson
          $50 for pack of 4 lessons (pre-paid)
